Shauna Onabajo, LPC · EMDR Therapist in Austin

Hi, I'm Shauna. You're not crazy. You just need the tools to unhook the past from who you believe you are.

Advanced Clinician · she/her/hers
When I was young I watched Oprah and Dr. Phil and saw how people struggle with deep emotional wounds, largely from trauma. It stuck with me. I wanted to drive to work every day and see lives change. Now I'm doing just that.

About Shauna Onabajo, LPC

Sexual trauma touches so many layers of who you are, but that doesn't have to be the end of the story.

It can impact your relationships in significant ways. One of the reasons I love my job is that I get to see people heal even when, at first, they aren't sure healing is possible.
I work inside Hope For The Journey's Feel, Heal, Thrive process, so the work stays safe and goes at your pace. I use EMDR along with other approaches and build a plan with you. It's never cookie-cutter, and I care that your life actually changes for the better. I'm aiming to work myself out of a job. When people heal, they pass that on to everyone around them.

More about Shauna

People heal, even when they aren't sure it's possible.

I especially love working with Black and Indigenous folks who want to overcome the traumas holding them back — including racial trauma, sexual identity, and spiritual fulfillment after trauma.
Carrying secrets and unresolved grief can leave you lonely, misunderstood, perfectionistic, or steeped in guilt and shame. Often my clients worry they're crazy because they 'should' be happy. You're not. I'd be honored to help.

Your first call is with a real person.

Nia, our Client Care Coordinator, will listen to what's going on and help you get started with Shauna. No phone tree, no pressure.
