You don't have to be a therapist to help someone heal.
Most of what keeps a nonprofit running has nothing to do with therapy. Someone has to staff the table, set up the room, and spread the word. That someone can be you.
Choose the way that fits your life. Both change what's possible for the people we serve.
A 501(c)(3) nonprofit
Hope For The Journey Collective is a registered 501(c)(3) public charity.

Ways to Volunteer
Two ways to help.
Help from inside the organization, or open up your own circle. Both matter, and neither requires you to be a therapist.
Volunteer
Volunteer with us
Support our events, lend a hand on a project, or join us as a non-clinical intern.
Events: trainings, conferences, and community fairs
Projects: admin, marketing, and professional skills
Internships: for students who want nonprofit experience outside of therapy
Pick what sounds like you. If your skill isn't listed, tell us anyway, because we're rarely short of things to do.

Events
Events & outreach
Our trainings and workshops need hands, and so do the conference tables and community fairs where we meet people.
Registration and check-in on training days
Room setup, materials, and AV
Staffing a table and talking about our mission
Community fairs and health events
๐ ๏ธ
Projects
Projects & skills
Behind-the-scenes work, or professional skills from your day job. Every hour here is an hour our team spends on clients instead.
Data entry, mailings, and scheduling
Social media, design, photo, and video
Copywriting and newsletters
Accounting, legal, HR, IT, and grant writing
๐
Internships
Non-clinical internships
For students and career-changers who want hands-on experience with a nonprofit, outside of therapy.
Marketing and communications
Administration and operations
Event and program support
Clinical practicum placements aren't part of this path.
How to Volunteer
Three steps, no guessing.
1
Tell us about you
Send a message with your skills, interests, and roughly how much time you have. There's no minimum.
2
We'll have a chat
A short conversation to find where you'd actually enjoy helping, not just where we have a gap.
3
Get started
Orientation, any training the role needs, and you're in. We'll never leave you guessing what to do.
๐
A note on confidentiality
Some volunteer roles bring you near a clinical setting. Those roles carry a confidentiality agreement and a short orientation, the same standard we hold ourselves to. We'll explain exactly what applies before you commit to anything.
What Volunteers Get
Our side of the deal.
Volunteering shouldn't be a one-way transaction.
โ
Real involvement in the mission, not busywork in a corner
โ
Invitations to our trainings and events
โ
References and documented hours for students and career-changers
โ
A team that says thank you and means it
โ
Flexibility: tell us when your life changes and we'll adjust
What Volunteers Get
What you'll take with you.
Your time goes to people who need it, and you leave with something too.

Host a Gathering For Good
Ninety minutes. Your living room. Real change.
A Gathering For Good is a relaxed evening where you invite people you already know, we share what this work does, and everyone leaves with a way to help.
Not a gala. Not an auction. It's closer to having people over, which is exactly what it is.

No. Most hosts say a sentence or two about why they care, but it's optional. Plenty of hosts simply open the door and let us do the talking.
Yes. Businesses can sponsor, give services, or co-host events. See our Sponsorship page for the details.
